About Department of Psychology

The Department of Psychology at Pirojpur Science and Technology University (PrSTU), Bangladesh, is a planned addition to the university’s academic offerings. The department is projected to begin its academic program on October 28, 2024 with the introduction of a Bachelor of Science (B Sc) in Psychology. The B Sc (Honors) in Psychology is meticulously designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of human behavior and mental processes. This program will aim to cultivate students' critical thinking, research, and analytical skills, enabling them to apply psychological principles across diverse settings, including clinical, educational, organizational, and research environments. By integrating contemporary psychological theories, research methodologies, and ethical practices, the curriculum ensures that graduates are well-prepared to address the evolving needs of society. Four faculty members will be committed to creating an engaging and supportive learning atmosphere, promoting research and innovation, and offering personalized mentorship to students. Their collective efforts will be geared towards establishing a department that excels in both teaching and contributes significantly to psychological research and community outreach.
